PFY is Keeping it Going!

The last year and a half has been unbelievably challenging at times, and we still don’t know exactly what the future looks like. But what we do know is that PFY will keep going, no matter what. Why? Because more than 9,000 LGBTQ+ individuals, parents, and allies on Long Island need our services every year*.

What is PFY doing to keep it going? After more than a year of virtual programming, we resumed regular in-person groups and social activities in a private outdoor setting near our Nassau County location. We launched Camp PFY, an outdoor summer program for youth ages 9-12. We initiated our first mobile HIV testing service and in-home HIV testing programin order to meet clients where it is more convenient and comfortable for them to get a test. In addition, we are continuing to provide housing and nutrition assistance for our LGBTQ+ clients in need.

As community needs continue to evolve during this uncertain time, PFY staff are committed to keeping a pulse on what is happening with our clients so that we can provide the most responsive programs and services possible.
