Rachel Kamin, Director of Lifelong Learning at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in Highland Park, Ill., has served as chair of the Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee, a national committee of the Association of Jewish Libraries. She is book review editor for children and teens for The Association of Jewish Libraries Newsletter and writes children’s book reviews for School Library Journal, Jewish Book World, and AJL Reviews. She recently contributed a chapter to The Tot Shabbat Handbook: A Practical Guide for Engaging Young Families in Congregational Life edited by Paula Feldstein (URJ Press, 2010).
