Steven L. Young
 
Steve L. Young has served on the Board of the Council for the past seven years, including three years as an officer. Steve chaired the WJC Night of Learning and chairs the Membership Committee. An alumnus of SUNY Binghamton (Harpur College) and St. John’s University School of Law, Steve was a partner at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman and Dicker, LLP, White Plains, before recently taking senior counsel status.

At Camp Massad Beth, Steve met Debbie, his wife of 45 years. They moved to New Rochelle in 1989, where they have been active members of Beth El Synagogue Center. Steve served as President of Beth El and is now an Honorary President, a member of the Human Resources Committee, and a gabbai on Shabbat and holidays. Steve was co-chair of the UJA Federation of New York’s General Insurance Division for about 20 years and a Board member of the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester (The Leffell School), where his three children (and one son-in-law) attended.

Steve and Debbie are the proud parents of Jake, Gavi and Becky. Jake and his fiancée, Marie Luongo, live in Croton-on-Hudson. Gavi and her husband, Rabbi Jason Fenster, live in Northbrook, IL, with their sons, Benjamin and Henry. Becky and her husband, Jake Orbach-Smith, live in Brooklyn.
