Harriet Kaplan Suvall
Harriet Kaplan Suvall grew up in New Rochelle, and then attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she met Marc. They moved back to her hometown in 1981 where she was a successful realtor and became
involved in Jewish causes and issues facing Israel. Harriet has held leadership positions in Hadassah,

American Jewish Committee, and in UJA-Federation of New York, both in Westchester and in Manhattan.
Harriet served as co-chair of Hadassah’s Aviva-Tamar Chapter. As a member of the Board of American Jewish Committee in Westchester, she helped develop a strong, active board and recruited many new lay leaders.
She was a member of AJC’s National Board of Governors and participated in diplomatic meetings, both here and abroad, advocating on issues of Jewish concern. Harriet has been a long time lay leader with UJA-Federation of N.Y. In Westchester, she has held positions such as Co-Chair of the New Rochelle Women’s Campaign, Fundraising Chair
and Major Gifts Chair. Harriet and Marc were past co-chairs of the Westchester King David Society.
Through her involvement with UJA-Federation in Manhattan, Harriet participated on the Aging Task Force of The Caring Commission and then on several Israel allocation committees focusing on helping disadvantaged groups such as Ethiopian Israelis, Ultra-Orthodox Israelis, and Arab Israelis. Harriet was a founding member of the Synergy Coordinating Council, which developed new, creative ways to help synagogues adapt to changing circumstances
and become thriving centers of Jewish life. She is currently a Member of the Board of UJA-Federation of New York.
Harriet and Marc are members of Romemu, Beth El Synagogue Center, and Hebrew Institute of Riverdale. They are proud parents of Cara and David, and proud in-laws of Joseph Fishman. They are big fans of their grandsons,
Lavi Gabriel and Asher Max.
