After graduating from Weequahic, Dr. Noah Chivian attended Franklin and Marshall College, and received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.  He subsequently received his certificate in Endodontics from Temple University School of Dentistry.
Recognition that he has received includes being a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a Fellow of the American and International Colleges of Dentistry and the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Chivian received the Alumni Award of Merit from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the Edgar D. Coolidge Award from the American Association of Endodontists.

In addition to maintaining a private practice limited to Endodontics in West Orange, NJ, Dr. Chivian is an attending in Endodontics in the Dept. of Dentistry at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.  He is also an Adjunct Professor Endodontics at both the Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the NJ Dental School (UMDNJ).

Dr. Chivian is a Past President of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the American Assoc. of Endodontists Foundation.  He presently serves on the Board of the Essex County Dental Society Education Foundation.

He has contributed to 14 dental textbooks and his numerous papers have appeared in many endodontic journals. Dr. Chivian was a member of the Editorial Board of Dental Traumatology for 20 years and presently serves on several editorial boards for the journal.  The Video Corp. of America produced several of his teaching tapes.  Dr. Chivian presented “How to Have a Positive Endodontic Experience” as an Alpha Omega Webcast in 2002 and it is archived on their website.

Dr. Chivian has conducted lectures, seminars and webcasts on all phases of endodontics at universities and dental meetings throughout North and South America, Germany, Greece, France, Holland, Israel, Japan and Switzerland.
