During her years at Weequahic, Patricia was a member of the Honor Society and was very active in the Band, Dance and Modeling clubs.  She had a lot of school spirit and was popular and well-liked by her classmates for her kind and welcoming demeanor.

When Patricia graduated, she went to work for IBM and then for the Post Office where she stayed for over 30 years.  In the meantime, she married and began to raise a family.  She stayed in Newark and became a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church (Irvington), then Clearview Baptist Church (Newark) and then, with her husband, Pastor Richard Brown, Jr., joined him in leading Bethsaida and then Gravel Hill Missionary churches (Newark).

As part of her journey, Patricia became a community supporter.  She uplifted many people, especially young mothers, by providing them with resources (from her own pocket), referrals, counseling and emotional support.  Patricia was a faith-based person and her work was a lifeline to many who needed help, especially dedicating much of her time providing comfort and prayer to grieving families.  She never turned anyone away and did her work quietly and without fanfare.  In her spare time, Patricia painted.  While she never had a formal exhibit, the work she left to family and friends became a testimony to her legacy of giving.

Patricia raised two sons and a daughter in Newark, a city she poured her heart into.  She passed in 2023, leaving many with positive memories of her kindness.
