To Our Dear Colleague and Friend, Becky,

To know you is to be in awe of the playfulness and joy that you bring to the discipline of science. Albert Einstein once said: "The only source of knowledge is experience." With this exact spirit, you have sought to turn the entire Westchester Day School campus into an experiential learning space that students will remember for a lifetime. Whether it is flying paper airplanes through the Castle breezeway to predict and reflect upon velocity, or seining in the Long Island Sound to identify local marine species, the students are abundantly aware that science is real and all around us. With STEM challenges that accompany Chanukah celebrations, such as 3D-printed dreidels, the Chanukade, and menorah circuits, to hands-on encounters with reptiles in order to contrast their skeletal structures, our students engage with science in a way that cultivates marvelous curiosity. As an educator, you have inspired your students to ask more questions and seek more answers. What a transcendent gift! Therefore, with tremendous admiration and pride, we celebrate this very deserved recognition of your dedication to the students of Westchester Day School.
