Dr. Diana Straus
Hakarat Hatov Award

Diana Straus, her husband Joseph (’02) and her children Charlie (’28), Gwenyth (’30) and Margaret moved to Englewood in 2019.

When Moriah began to plan for an in-person school year during the COVID19 pandemic, Diana helped the school develop a safe and workable plan using her medical and research background.

Diana is a molecular genetics pathologist recently graduated from a fellowship in the Division of Personalized Genomic Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College and received her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was awarded the Daniel J. Fink MD Memorial Prize. She completed her residency in clinical pathology at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her research has been published in several medical journals and presented at various conferences, as well as awarded the 2015 Pathology Translational Research Award at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Diana is new to the Moriah family herself, but she is looking forward to continuing the longstanding involvement of the Straus family in Moriah’s history.
