Temple Beth Shalom
To my beloved husband and role model for my children,  A man of valor, who can find?  His value is far above jewels The hearts of his people trust in him He bestows all goodness upon his people  Never evil, all the days of their life. He spreads out his palm to the poor,  And extends his hand to the destitute. He opens his mouth with pleasantness and wisdom.  And his tongue is guided by kindness. His peopled come forward and bless him. And his children and his wife extol him. Many people have done superbly but you surpass them all. Give him the fruit of his hand.
And let him be praised in the gates by his very own deeds.

What a Jubilee celebration!!!   Over 30 years of total,

Temple Beth Shalom
My Dear Sharon, Mazal Tov, Mazal Tov!  It is with such joy that I "raise a glass" alongside the many others who have come this evening to celebrate your 20th anniversary as a Cantor at Temple Beth Shalom. Some time ago there was an infant who stood in her crib and "sang" carefully crafted nigunim to flowers on the wallpaper.  That was the start of a journey always marked with signs of affection and respect by children and adults alike.  Still so well deserved. Sharon, now you sing more than nigunim.  The music is heard on Saturday mornings, on general holidays, in concerts, at good times and also at sad ones..  But your best is done with words formed as prayers thanking Him, extolling Him, pleading with Him for forgiveness for a long life. The Open Book. Especially sacred. This music/ chanting is done to perfection by you year after year.  Beautifully, lovingly, correctly, with reverence.  Do you see the tears I try to hide?  My Dear Daughter, may He bless you with 120 more years of good health and good fortune. May you  help us to pray as you have always done before.  And surely, with Little One close by. My love always,

To my dear colleagues, Cantors Fine and Knoller,
שירו ליהוה ברכו שמו בשרו מיום ליום ישועתו
Sing to the Lord, praise God's name; proclaim God's salvation day after day (Psalm 96) Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote that "the mission of a Cantor is to lead in prayer. He does not stand before the ark as an artist in isolation; he stands before the ark with the congregation. His task is to represent as well as inspire the community."

You have both attained Heschel's ideal for what a cantor should be. Each and every time you ascend our bimah, you expertly represent and inspire our congregation, both in song and through your spirit.

It is a true honor to call you both my dear colleagues and friends and I look forward to sharing the bimah with you both for many years to come.

On behalf of the entire membership of the Cantor's Assembly, I would like to extend my very best wishes on your synagogue's upcoming Cantor's Jubilee honoring Cantors Perry Fine and Sharon Knoller. It has been my privilege and pleasure to Cantor Fine as he has been a member of our organization since 1992. It will not surprise you to that he is held in the highest esteem by his colleagues. Clearly your membership appreciates the value to a congregation in having cantors who serve over an extended period of time. That continuity is a source of comfort and strength to a synagogue and its worshipers, sharing occasions of both joy and sorrow with different generations of the same family. The Cantor's Assembly wishes Cantors Fine and Knoller, and Temple Beth Shalom, many more years together in a relationship that is mutually rewarding.

Sharon: Some time ago there was an infant who stood in her crib and "sang" carefully crafted niggunim to the flowers on the wallpaper. That was the start of a journey always marked with signs of affection and respect by children and adults alike. Still so well deserved. But now you doing more than just those niggunim and you do it beautifully, lovingly, correctly, with reverence. My dear daughter, may He bless you with 120 more years of good health and good fortune. And surely, with Little One close by.
