We've been blessed to have had years of exceptional schooling and a wonderful sense of community during our time with Rabbi Weiser and Soille Hebrew Day. Our children have grown to appreciate the special role Jews have in this world, trying to live the values of Derech Eretz and Tikun Olam. In addition, by serving (and continuing to serve) with the Israel Defense Force, our sons recognize what it takes for the State of Israel to not only survive but to
continue thriving.
We wish continued success for Soille Hebrew Day under the dynamic new helm of Rabbi Geiger.

To Rabbi Weiser and Betty z'l,
"Teachers open our eyes to the world. They give us curiosity and confidence. They teach us to ask questions. They connect us to our past and future. They're the guardians of our social heritage. We have lots of heroes today, and they are often celebrities - athletes, supermodels, media personalities. They come, they have their fifteen minutes of fame, and they go. But the influence of good teachers stays with us. They are the people who really shape our life."
--Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, From Optimism to Hope, p. 132.

In these challenging times our hearts are experiencing the duality of pain and pride. There is so much pain when we think about what our brothers and sisters are experiencing in Israel, and the heavy toll this war has placed on the IDF. Here in our community, we are heartbroken for Rabbi Weiser, his family and all of us, on the loss of Betty, a'h. Thank G-d we have the pride and with it the hope. Pride in our chayalim, and the security they provide for the eternal hope for our homeland. Pride in the young women who were nurtured and educated by Rebbetzin Weiser and for the amazing things they have accomplished, and the hope that G-d willing, they will continue to do so.
Rabbi Weiser, may Hashem shower you with His richest blessings for this next chapter in your life. Thank you for all you have done for the San Diego community. Rabbi Geiger, a warm welcome to you and Karen. May SDHDS continue to grow and thrive under your leadership. Our immense gratitude to the alumni serving in the IDF! In honor of Rabbi and Rebbetzin (a"h) Weiser:
There are no words capable of expressing the impact you both have had to us personally, to our family, and to the entire San Diego Jewish community. What you have created at San Diego Hebrew Day is truly special---generations of proud, knowledgeable Jews with a strong moral compass making a positive difference all around the world. Your tireless efforts over the years have made San Diego's Jewish community strong and secure, and you both deserve a hearty Yasher Koach. It is no exaggeration to say that we would not be who we are today, and our community would not be what it is today, without the both of you and San Diego Hebrew Day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have given us. We feel truly blessed to know you and be part of the Hebrew Day community. As we continue to transmit the Jewish values you have taught us to our children, there can be no doubt that your positive impact on our community will be felt for many many generations to come. Tribute to Morton Vogelson (a'h)
San Diego Hebrew Day School is honored to be the recipient of Mr. Vogelson's Legacy Gift. Mr. Vogelson chose to extend his commitment to our school with a Legacy Gift to benefit our Endowment Fund. His vision in providing this perpetual support benefits future generations of San Diego Hebrew Day School students.
"It is my hope that all Jewish children in the San Diego community will grow up as delighted and grateful to be a Jew as I am. To me charity and community are closely linked.
If we don't help each other, who will? The giving of charity is greater than all offerings."

Tribute to Mr. Reuben Klamer (a"h)
Mr. Reuben Klamer (z"l) began his involvement in the San Diego Hebrew Day School by teaching our middle school students what it means to be an inventor, how to harness creativity and how to create games that keep people engaged. Reuben was so inspired by the Middot (good character) and potential of our middle school students, he became interested in developing their leadership skills. This led to the creation of the Reuben Klamer 'Game of Life' Leadership Program, which continues to inspire and engage our students.
