Israeli Paralympic Committee

 

The Israeli Paralympic Committee, parallel to the Israeli Olympic Committee, together with the Disabled Sports Association, are responsible for the competitive activities of para athletes, including tournaments in Israel and abroad such as the European Championships, World Championships and the Paralympic Games. The Paralympic committee finds, develops, and promotes athletes, in 16 sports including: para athletics, boccia, badminton, cycling, powerlifting, rowing, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball, fencing, marathon, paracanoe, shooting, rugby wheelchairs, and swimming.

 

 

The Israeli Paralympic teams have won numerous medals since 1992 when they started competing

 

Barcelona 1992 – 13 medals

Atlanta 1996 – 9 medals

Sydney 2000 – 6 medals

Athens 2004 – 13 medals

Beijing 2008 – 6 medals

London 2012 – 8 medals
