The family supports Jewish and humanitarian charities including UJA, Birthright Israel, Island Harvest, Children’s Medical Fund, Israeli Defense Fund, The Michael Bolton Charitable Foundation for Domestic Violence, Vitamin Angels among others.

Jahn grew up in Manhasset Hills, attended Great Neck South High School and went on to graduate from SUNY Albany with a BS degree in Finance in 1989.  He always knew he would be an entrepreneur and tried many different small businesses before establishing Purity Products in 1993, now headquartered in Plainview, New York.  Purity Products provides evidence-based nutritional supplements directly to the consumer.  Over the last 25 years, Purity Products has become a vitamin industry leader.  The company strives to make America a healthier place to live.  Jahn prides himself on creating a nurturing, family atmosphere for his employees where a healthy culture drives high performance.  In addition, Jahn is a proud member of the Long Island Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), where he has held various board member positions over the past 18 years. Jahn is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling extensively both for golf and with the family.

Born in the Soviet Union, Sabrina and her family moved first to Israel when she was just 3 years old, and then eventually to the United States, after living briefly in Italy and Belgium.  The family settled in Brooklyn and Sabrina grew up there until going away to college at SUNY New Paltz where she received a BA degree in Psychology.  She later also earned her Masters in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University.  Sabrina worked in medical research at Montefiore Hospital before focusing on raising her children and working part time at Purity Products.   Sabrina is an avid tennis player and enjoys playing competitively, doing yoga, reading, travel and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Judy Mittleman Freund

Dr. Judy Mittleman has been a prominent force at the Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation as a member of the Board of Trustees, past member of the religious school committee, and current liaison to the preschool.  Her latest passion that has excited our community is promoting a “Back to Nature” approach for preschool children at the synagogue’s new Nature Preschool. Judy, who was born and raised in Hollis Hills, Queens, is no stranger to fostering superior education. She taught religious school throughout college, and after she graduated from SUNY-Binghamton with a degree in biology, Judy held a teaching position at the Lexington School for the Deaf where she skillfully taught science classes in sign language to that population. Judy graduated from Downstate Medical School. During her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at LIJ, Judy married Dr. Robert Freund, and in addition to delivering hundreds of babies in her private practice, she and Rob fit in having four of their own children - Jacob, Ben, Emily, and Jonah. They are also parents to a lively variety of pets and, in her “free” time, Judy enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with her friends and family and hopes to retire one day where it does not snow on the first day of Spring!
