We honor a dear friend of Rabbi Wildes and MJE, Yeshiva University President Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman with MJE’s Rabbinic Leadership Award.   

 

Under Rabbi Berman’s visionary leadership Yeshiva University (where virtually all the MJE rabbis and educators have studied) has grown dramatically.  Yeshiva University has also been a beacon of pro-Israel support in these challenging times.  Since the October 7th attack on Israel, Rabbi Berman has been an outspoken voice for Israel, securing over a hundred university presidents to join him in publicly condemning Hamas. 
 

During MJE’s 25 years of Jewish outreach, Rabbi Berman has been a huge support to Rabbi Wildes and to our many participants. During Rabbi Berman’s over decade tenure as rabbi of The Jewish Center, he often spoke at MJE events, taught classes and ascended the ten flights on the High Holidays to inspire, and “be inspired” by the MJE participants. 

 

As a trusted friend and colleague, Rabbi Berman has always been there for Rabbi Wildes, sharing his wisdom and sage counsel on MJE’s direction over the many years.  MJE would simply not be where it is today if not for Rabbi Berman.  He truly cares about every Jew, irrespective of their background. This is evidenced not only by his support for MJE, but also by the many YU Judaic study programs and classes which cater to the large number of undergraduate students that did not have the benefit of a formal Jewish education.

As an active and erudite spokesman for the Jewish community, Dr. Berman lectures worldwide, writes extensively on contemporary Jewish thought, modern philosophy, and trends in higher education. Dr. Berman is widely published in outlets such as Forbes, Newsweek, and the Wall Street Journal, and has appeared in various news outlets such as CNBC, MSNBC, FOX news and FOX business.
