Linda Sipzner
Educational Excellence Award

Linda Sipzner, affectionately known as Morah Sara in the JKHA community, is a dedicated and veteran Kitah Alef educator. With 38 years of experience at JKHA, she has nurtured hundreds of first graders as they embark on their journey into formal Torah and Ivrit education. Passionate about both her students and her curriculum, she believes that children learn best in a caring, supportive, and structured environment.

Morah Sara’s classroom is an exciting and dynamic space where students are given the tools to succeed and develop the skills needed to become lifelong learners. She incorporates a variety of modalities and learning materials to engage each child and strives to instill a deep love for Torah and Eretz Yisrael, fostering a strong connection to their Jewish heritage. She takes great pride in teaching the children of her former students and loves hearing about their accomplishments.

Beyond the classroom, Morah Sara has served as an Early Childhood and Lower School Hebrew Coordinator and has been a mentor teacher at JKHA. She was a pilot teacher for Ariot Cal, a precursor to the current iTalam program used for Hebrew literacy in the Lower School. She has a deep love for Ivrit and Dikduk (Hebrew grammar) and was one of the first official “proofreaders” of the JKHA Shabbat Bulletin. Currently, she is among the first educators introducing Even Kriah, a dynamic Hebrew reading program, to JKHA’s first graders.

Morah Sara graduated from Queens College (BA, 1981) and earned Hebrew Teacher’s Diplomas from Machon Gold in Israel (1980) and the Teachers’ Institute for Women of Yeshiva University (1984).
