Dearest Laura,
I still remember how excited you were about getting the community

to come together quickly to provide HFL with $5M during COVID.

Then -- as with all of the things you do in the Jewish community -- getting recognition

or credit was never on your mind. However, it is nice every now and then

to celebrate just one of the many things you have done and continue to do.

Even though you never quote him, your leadership style embodies

Lao Tzu's famous saying:

"A leader is best when people barely know he exists,

when his work is done, his aim fulfilled,

they will say: we did it ourselves."
