A Letter from Our President
Gottesman RTW Academy Community:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, welcome to the Gottesman RTW Academy Gala. This year we are pleased to honor Dr Lynne B Harrison. Together with Dr Harrison, we put a lens on our STEM science program. We hope you enjoy the showcase of our middle school students' achievements that we will be sharing with you.
This year, GRTWA gala serves not only as a platform to demonstrate our excellence in STEM, but also as an opportunity to express gratitude to our donors. Dr Harrison who, with her generous gift, plays a vital role in advancing our school mission. Her support allows our students the space to innovate and explore what STEM can do for the world.
Interestingly, Israel is sometimes referred to as a start-up nation – small in size, but a mighty state. Our nation's resilience forged through challenges fuels a mindset that embraces risk-taking and problem solving. STEM embodies these ideas. It is the essence of Tikkun Olam.
The constant Innovation within Israel has made a vital global impact in many STEM fields like biotechnology, cybersecurity, agriculture, and medical research.
As a school, our ties with Israel have never been stronger. October 7th has changed our lives forever. Within days after the attack, our school opened its doors and immediately sheltered over twenty students from Israel. These children desperately needed a safe space. Our community will remember this experience forever and I am immensely proud of this.
A special thank you goes to these tireless volunteers:
Cindy Amador, Melissa Berlin, Randi Cohen, Alyssa Engelberg, Ohishi Ishimaya, Tal Kormas, Carrie Norin, Katee Petro, Sarah Shimon, Marissa Sosin, Jackie Topol, Amy Torres and others.
We invite you to celebrate with us the seeds we plant as they blossom into solutions of tomorrow.
With hope and gratitude,
Liron Kormas-Harpaz
President, Board of Trustees
