Shara Sheinberg
Shara Sheinberg is a devoted mother of three, happily married to her husband Nimrod Sheinberg, and proud owner of their dog Moby. For the past 12 years, she has called Irvington, NY, home, following a previous chapter of life in New York City.

From a young age, Shara was immersed in Young Judaea, a national Zionist youth movement.  At the age of 12, she began attending YJ summer camps and participating in year-round programming that have shaped her values and leadership skills. Through these experiences, Shara developed a deep connection to the movement's tagline drawn from Arik Einstein’s song, “Ani Ve’Ata”: "You and I will change the world.” These formative years laid the foundation for Shara's commitment to Zionism and her belief in the power of collective action to enact positive change.

After graduating high school, Shara embarked on a transformative year in Israel as part of YJ’s Year Course program, further solidifying her Zionist roots and strengthening her commitment to Jewish values. She continued her academic path at The George Washington University in Washington DC, where she majored in Human Services and completed a minor in Judaic Studies.

Passionate about education and inclusion, Shara pursued graduate studies at Bank Street College of Education in New York, earning dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. At the start of her career, Shara was a pioneer of the inclusion and collaborative team teaching model, helping to launch the program in the New York City public schools.  Shara then joined the IDEAL School of Manhattan during its early years of inception, where she also taught Kindergarten in a classroom of diverse learners.  Upon moving to the Rivertowns, Shara continued her career as a Learning Specialist at The Leffell Lower School (formerly Solomon Schecter), working closely with teachers, students, and families.

In 2016, Shara launched GO Education Services, a female-owned tutoring business which provides individualized instructional support to students from pre-K through High School and beyond. GOEd provides New York City and Westchester County based families with support and guidance in their children's educational experiences.  It has always been a goal of Shara’s to make sure that students not only demonstrate progress in academic areas, but that they grow socially and emotionally, as well as gain confidence in their abilities.

Currently, Shara also holds a position at Manhattanville University in their School of Education as part of their Professional Development School network. She serves as a liaison between the University and three elementary schools in the Bedford Central School district, providing professional development opportunities and programming. One of Shara’s favorite responsibilities in this role is supervising graduate students during their fieldwork, and mentoring the next generation of educators.

Shara is an active member at Greenburgh Hebrew Center, where she participates in various programs and has been involved in the Religious school PTA, SATO, Second Pillar, and more. The Sheinberg family celebrated the bat mitzvah of older daughters Keren (2022) and Lia (2024), and Jenna’s baby naming in 2013, with her bat mitzvah scheduled for May 2026. Shara has served on the board of trustees since 2020, including two years as Vice President of Education.

Outside of her professional and volunteer endeavors, Shara finds joy in spending time with friends and family, traveling, attending various community events, and walking her dog Moby while enjoying an audiobook or podcast.  Shara's diverse experiences, unwavering commitment to education, inclusion, and her community, coupled with her deep-rooted connection to Zionism and Jewish values, make her a valued member of both the educational and Jewish communities in Westchester County and beyond.
