Barry Oslick
Chizuk Amuno
Barry started his involvement in synagogue life as a teenager, taking on a youth leadership role where he grew up. Continuing on, in the early 1980’s, Barry was asked to become member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Ahavat Shalom in Lakewood, and later was elected to be the Congregation’s President. He and his wife Pearl were the shul’s Kadima advisors for 18 years and, also, during the same time, served as senior staff members for Hagalil Region Kadima.
Barry’s involvement in Men’s Club began as his involvement in the Lakewood synagogue began. He became involved in Ahavat Shalom’s Men’s Club, became the Club’s President in the late 1980’s, and continued to serve as the Club’s President for most of the next 20 years.
After moving to Maryland, Pearl and Barry joined Chizuk Amuno Congregation in 2016. Barry quickly found himself on the Chizuk Amuno Brotherhood Board. Shortly thereafter, Barry became the Brotherhood 1st VP and moved up to hold the office of President in 2019. During his two years as President, Barry navigated the Club through the beginnings and first year and a half of COVID, keeping the program alive, active and vibrant during that time. He continues to lead programs for the Club, including the recent Jews in Baseball raffle.
Currently, Barry is serving as the interim Treasurer for Seaboard Region.
Barry spent the majority of his professional career as a computer programmer and software test engineer for AT&T. He is currently a production Quality Assurance manager with a contractor for the U.S. Army. He and Pearl are the proud parents to two daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren.
