Andrew Cohen
Agudas Achim

Judaism and Jewish experience is central to Andrew J. Cohen’s life at work and at home.

Professionally, Andrew is Hillel International’s Vice President for Technology Strategy and Operations. In this role, he directs the digital technology team that supports the entire Hillel movement. Andrew loves visiting colleges to meet with local Hillel professionals and their students to hear about their unique experiences on campus.

At home, Andrew and his wife Sandy are active members of Agudas Achim Congregation (AAC) where they have established life-long friendships over Shabbat dinners, Purim carnivals, and minyanim. Their children Jared, 20, and Ilana, 17, grew up in the synagogue, and have become active volunteers, religious schoolteachers, and youth program leaders. Jared is a junior at Temple University where Andrew serves on Temple Hillel’s board of directors. Ilana is currently co-president of BBYO’s Northern Virginia Council.

Andrew has served on Agudas Achim’s board of directors and chaired multiple committees. He currently serves as programming vice president of the AAC Men’s Club, where he helps facilitate, diverse programming ranging from politics to Israel to baseball to beer — and sometimes all three at the same time. During the pandemic, Andrew served as a technical advisor to Agudas Achim’s clergy and staff to enable Zoom-based alternatives for religious services, concerts, Men’s Club events, and other synagogue convenings.
