Lauren Suissa
Jean Quint Memorial Award
Lauren Suissa was born and raised in Montreal. She attended St. George High School. She went to Concordia University where she graduated with a BA in Judaic Studies in 1997 and continued her education later by receiving a Certificate in Family Life Education in 2017.
Lauren married Alvin in 1996. They have raised a beautiful family consisting of Binyamin and Gabby, Leora, Yonah, Lielle, 2 beautiful grandchildren, Jacob and Eve and their fur baby Daisy.
Lauren learnt the importance of volunteering for the community early in life. She remembers growing up watching her mother volunteer for the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue. That early lesson led her to a life committed to her community and its organizations. Lauren has a strong belief in the importance of Jewish education and making sure that every child has access to it regardless of academic abilities. This belief is what led Lauren to dedicate so much of her effort to organizations that seek to improve the lives of children.
Lauren was President of the Ayelet Chapter of Emunah Montreal. She chaired countless events and opened her home for Melave Malkas and Bake Sales. She served on the National Board and was Vice- President of Emunah Canada. Regardless of the role Lauren plays she always does it with a full heart and gives 100% of herself.
Emunah is of course not the only organization lucky enough to have Lauren. She volunteers extensively for Hebrew Academy. She was President of the Parents Association and is a current board member. She sat on the board of Banav and NCSY and was an active volunteer for Kollel Torah Mitzion.
Lauren embodies everything Jean Quint z”l stood for. She is a most deserving recipient of this award.
