Joanne comes from a longtime Mizrachi/Emunah family. Her mother, Lillian Lang, and grandmother, Rachel Bessin, were active members of the Ottawa Emunah.

 

Joanne has been working as a registered nurse in a hospital emergency room for the past 43 years.  Throughout this time, she has consistently provided the highest level of compassionate care to everyone she comes in contact with.  There are so many families within the Jewish community who have benefitted from her devotion while in the hospital and so many more to whom she has provided nurturing support in their homes.  Joanne goes above and beyond in giving of herself to the well-being of others. In fact, she gave a part of herself in 2019 by donating a kidney to a member of our community.
