ADDICTION IS A MALAISE OF THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT.
As we gather here tonight to celebrate 54 years of unwavering commitment to recovery, I’m filled with deep pride and gratitude for our incredible staff and the quality care they continue to provide. Addiction is a profound malaise—one that affects not only the mind and body, but the very spirit. And yet, in the face of such a struggle, we see resilience, courage, and transformation every day.
Tonight, we’re thrilled to install three remarkable alumni into DYC’s All-Stars. They epitomize the truth that with recovery all things are possible. These individuals are role models, showing others that no matter how daunting the challenge, a new, fulfilling life awaits. We are so honored to witness and celebrate their accomplishments. We are also privileged to honor Bill Dockery with our Humanitarian Award. Bill, as a founding member of our Advisory Board, has been a steadfast friend and advocate. He has answered every call, given time, wisdom, and compassion—all of which have paved the way for countless young people and their families to receive the care they so deeply need. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Michael Comerford and The Heisman Trophy Trust. Their generous support over the years has made an immeasurable difference in our ability to serve. Thank you Bill, Mike and the Heisman family, for walking this journey with us. Last, but not least, it is our pleasure to honor Todd Crandell for his exemplary mission to bring hope and encouragement to those seeking recovery. Through his own experiences, Todd has shown so many how life in recovery can be not only fulfilling but truly extraordinary.
Finally, on behalf of our members, staff and families of DYC, we extend our gratitude for the generous support of our sponsors, who contributions helped make this celebration truly special.
We remain steadfast in our belief that addiction, in all its forms, affects the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We believe when addiction transforms into recovery, something amazing and wonderful happens. This is the miracle of the human spirit—a testament to strength, hope, and love. May we continue to witness this miracle, one life at a time.
God Bless,
Bill Fusco
