MAZEL TOV to our well-deserved Honorees for their accomplishments in making the Congregation Israel community stronger and better.

Jennifer and Joel Shulman-You have been longtime fixtures of our Shul and this recognition is long overdue. Fixtures is the operative word when discussing your contributions to Congregation Israel-literally, as you have lent your architectural expertise to our building and also help build the Succah every year.

Michelle and Eytan Burstein-Michelle, we have known you since your childhood and are not surprised how you have become an active contributor to the Shul. Also not surprising, is seeing another Pirak being honored. Eytan, you are ubiquitous with your efforts on behalf of Congregation Israel, many under the radar. Thanks to you and your worthwhile projects, we have succumbed to joining Venmo.

Sheila Hanover-Your commitment to the Congregation Israel community inside and outside of Shul is non-stop as is your friendly smile that greets everyone. Also contributing to your success as a leader is your ability to effortlessly transverse the generational lines of our Shul.

Victor Dishy-You are steady reliable force in our Shul as you help anchor the 7 am daily minyan as well as the afternoon minyans. You are understated, but your great knowledge of Torah is on display whenever you give your fascinating D'var Torahs commemorating a Yahrzeit.

Zevi Nussbaum-We recall your father's long period of P'ticha (opening the Ark) in anticipation of your birth. You were certainly "worth the wait"! From a young age, you have been a minyan regular and leader. You have also been very active with the youth. At your tender age, you are probably qualified for all the awards here (except Aishet Chayal, of course).

Emmy & David were the embodiment of the best that is the CIS community. They lived their lives constantly looking for ways to help the members of our community. We hope and pray that their sincere warmth and genuine care and concern for the CIS community and its members will be a guiding light for us all for many years to come.

If we can live by their example, then the pure love that was experienced by everyone and anyone who met Emmy & David will continue to be the experience of those who come to Springfield for many years to come in the future.
