With exceptional verve and vigor, they have actualized their vision of the vibrant Kehilla we treasure today.
Michal and Josh Geiger
Young Leadership Award Recipients
Celebrated for extending weekly Shabbos invitations to community members of all ages as well as visitors, Michal and Josh also support CIS through their leadership of myriad educational and community service programs. Formerly our shul’s Youth Directors, they have also helped our youngest members embrace enthusiastically Tefillah and Torah values.
Danielle Pepper
Aishet Chayil Award Recipient
Since moving to Springfield as a newlywed, Danielle has served as one of our shul’s most charismatic agents for change, building bridges among Sisterhood members of all ages and backgrounds, and helping to implement new systems aimed at enhancing the impact of our Annual Dinner and Ad Journal.

For years, Howard has been a mainstay of our shul’s daily and Shabbos minyanim, modeling a dedication to Tefillah and our Kehilla that is matched by the thoughtfulness and wisdom he brings to his role as Financial Secretary.
Avi Stern
Joseph Tammam Memorial Youth Community Service Scholarship Recipient
Avi has brought an infectious smile and an indefatigable spirit to his work as a Youth Group leader for the past six years, while serving as a Baal Koreh and Baal Tefillah, Sukkah builder and Social Hall cleaner, and jack-of-all-trades who happily tackles projects big and small for shul members.
