Sherri Warshavsky is one busy lady as she strives to balance her professional life and desire to serve the Jewish Community.

Sherri is a physician assistant and health educator, working part-time at Mercy Medical Center, giving lectures on health-related topics and acting as a preceptor for Physician Assistant (PA) students on clinical rotations. Sherri graduated from Touro College with a Bachelor of Science in PA Studies during the early years of her profession. Then, while working at Montefiore Medical Center, she earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Columbia University. As a young professional, she was on the Board of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and served as Conference planning chairperson.

Sherri has served as Temple Beth Sholom Sisterhood Co-President for the past four years and is also a longstanding Hadassah member. When she moved to Manhasset Hills, she was asked to join the Ruach/Tel-Hai chapter of Hadassah and quickly moved up to executive Vice-President and then chapter President. On the region level, she has served as co-chair of the Check-It-Out Breast Cancer Awareness Program for many years. She has given talks on breast cancer awareness to high school students all over Nassau County as well as to Hadassah chapters and other interested adult groups.

Sherri and her husband Saul joined Temple Beth Sholom eight years ago after being long time members of Shelter Rock Jewish Center. At Shelter Rock, she was involved in Sisterhood and served as VP of education. But after joining Temple Beth Sholom, at the encouragement of some of her Hadassah friends, she became more active in Sisterhood and served as membership Vice-President before becoming Sisterhood Co-President.

Sherri was part of the TBS delegation to the 2017 Women’s League Convention and spoke at the forum on women’s health.

Sherri has been married to Saul for 32 years and could not have accomplished what she has without his support. They are the parents of two adult children; a son, Norman, who is a nuclear power plant operator in Pittsburgh, PA and a daughter, Pamela, who is an occupational therapist here on Long Island. As a family, they love taking walks with their dog, crafts, and travel. Sherri and Saul are life-long learners who particularly enjoy learning history and critical biblical scholarship. On most Shabbat mornings, Sherri and Saul can be found davening at Temple Beth Sholom.
