Cathy Baumgarten has lived in Jericho, NY for over 30 years and is a longtime member of the Jericho Jewish Center and its Sisterhood. She is married to Bruce and are the proud parents of children Michael and Ilana.

 

Cathy has worked for over 12 years with the Department of Labor and Social Services.

 

She is currently an active member of Sisterhood, is a past-President, and is currently on the Sisterhood Board. She has volunteered to deliver shiva meals to Sisterhood members in mourning, helped with selling Torah Fund cards and pins and various other programs. In addition, Cathy makes time to visit the sick (Bikur Cholim) and has been a volunteer in the “Friendly Visitors” program. Cathy has attended multiple BQLI Region events and has been a Torah Fund benefactor for several years. She currently serves as the Chairman of the JJC Board of Trustees.

 

Cathy attends Shabbat services regularly and is known as one of the original “Shabbat Ladies.” Cathy loves music!  She loves to sing and has been a regular in the High Holiday choir and often sings the anthems at various functions. She also takes part in singing the Hebrew Prayer for Israel and other prayers during services. Cathy loves books! She likes to read all types of books including the study of Hebrew and Judaism. 

 

Cathy is proud and honored to be named Woman of Achievement for the Jericho Jewish Center Sisterhood.
