I am a product of the Lower East Side of New York City. Born in the Bronx but promptly moved back to my parent’s original home, the Lower East Side. My parents never left the area. I had quite a wonderful childhood as we lived together with my grandparents and an aunt and two uncles. They gave me lots of attention and that is why, to this day, I love to live near my family.

I married early at 19 years old to my childhood sweetheart Victor, also 19 years old, after graduating Seward Park High School. I didn’t go to college then because I wanted to get married. I was a homemaker and volunteer in some nurseries. My mother was a major influence on me because she also was very active in several philanthropic organizations including Jewish War Veterans and Knights of Pythias. After moving to Queens, I joined Israel Center of Conservative Judaism and became active. I was on the board, was donor co-chair, trustee, secretary, and other projects and have been active ever since. We had three children, Paula, Harold, and Barry, who brought us joy and nachas with six grandchildren. I made many friends, have enjoyed the services and loved every minute of my cooperation in the synagogue. After the children grew up, I went to college, graduated, and became an assistant teacher for 20 years. Between working, volunteering in my shul and keeping home I was very busy and hope to continue this wonderful lifestyle.
