Judi Dorosin was born in the Bronx; she soon moved to Long Beach with her parents, George and Rhea Laine, and her older brother Stuart.
 
Judi attended Adelphi University, where she received her degree in nursing and met her husband, Michael. She and Michael were married in in 1963, her senior year in college. They moved into an apartment in Carle Place where they started their family. Their son Mark was born in 1965, and Jill was born in 1967.
 
Two years later the family moved to Plainview. Judi was always active in her community. She was a member of PTA while her children attended Jamaica Avenue School. She was a den mother when Mark was a Cub Scout, and the head soccer coach of Jill’s intra mural soccer teams. In 1978 Judi decided to resume her nursing career by becoming the school nurse at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School. In this role she was so much more than a medical professional. She was a counselor, confidante, advisor, advocate and friend to numerous students, many of whom still affectionally acknowledge her as Mrs. D.
 
Judi retired from Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District (POB) in 1997. Her hobbies include reading, golfing, gardening, watercolor painting, exercising and spending time with her dog, Charlie, and her six grandchildren.
 
Judi consistently gives 100% of herself to anything she devotes her time to. She sends out mailings for the Long Island League to Abolish Cancer (L.I.L.A.C.). She has been the facilitator for the Book Club in Plainview Jewish Center for over twenty years. Her biggest job is sending out Purim kits to college students.
