Karen Hesse Flatow is an artist and gallerist. She received an MBA and MFA from Columbia University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She is founding director of HESSE FLATOW, focusing on emerging and mid-career artists with diverse voices. HF has presented over 40 shows and has received reviews in Art in America, Art News, The New York Times, Art Forum, The New Yorker, and Hyperallergic among others.
 
Evan L. Flatow, MD is Bernard J. Lasker Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and President of Mount Sinai West. From 2005 to 2014, he served as Chair of the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. A nationally and internationally recognized leader in shoulder surgery, he has made many clinical, educational, and research contributions to the care of shoulder disorders.

Courtney Carrera began her career serving young people from marginalized communities in 1992 at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center. Her early work as a Health Educator centered on helping teens access comprehensive health care. In addition, she conducted professional development sessions for medical students and residents on adolescent development and short-term counseling approaches on reproductive health issues. In 1998, Ms. Carrera-Ghatan joined Children's Aid as an adolescent health advocate in the Carrera Adolescent Pregnancy PreventionProgram, becoming Assistant Director from 2008 through 2015. Currently, she is Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships and Programs, ensuring the implementation of high quality, comprehensive programs for the Children's Aid Youth Division.
 
Saadi Ghatan received his MD and completed his Residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at Seattle Children’s in 2001. He completed clinical and research fellowships in London at the Institute for Child Health/Great Ormond Street before coming to New York. Dr. Ghatan joined Mount Sinai in 2014, and since then has worked with Sinai Leadership to build interdisciplinary programs in the Neurosciences at Mount Sinai West and Morningside and Pediatric Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Ghatan is the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery for the Mount Sinai Health System.
 

Herminia Palacio, MD, MPH
President and CEO, Guttmacher Institute
 
Dr. Herminia Palacio is the President and CEO of the Guttmacher Institute. She leads the organization in fulfilling its mission to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights in the United States and globally. Dr. Palacio has dedicated her career to advancing health equity; she enjoys more than 25 years of experience across a broad range of sectors, including academic and clinical medicine, governmental public health and philanthropy. Prior to joining the Guttmacher Institute, Dr. Palacio served as Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services for the City of New York. She also practiced clinical medicine for nearly 20 years, including almost 15 years at San Francisco General Hospital during the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. She has held a number of full-time or adjunct academic appointments, including at the University of Texas School of Public Health, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. Dr. Palacio received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, a master of public health from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health, and a BA in biology from Barnard College at Columbia University. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
 

Michelle Sainté Willis
Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education Administration, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
 
Michelle Sainté Willis, a member of the Mount Sinai community since 1990, provides expertise and leadership in operations and resource management for programs related to the MD degree. She is a leader in the creative and strategic vision for the department and has contributed to the growth and success of the medical education program. Nationally, she is an invited speaker on topics related to medical education operations, medical school recruitment, diversity, and leadership development.
 
 
 
Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center Finance Team
 
Rebecca Anapolle is the Director of Finance for the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center. She has been part of the Center since 2008, and is responsible for the financial operations of the Center, including grant submissions and management. Ms. Anapolle is honored to be part of the Center and especially proud to be working with an amazing finance team. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Ryan Delgado is a Financial Analyst and has been with the Center since April 2020. He has a Master’s in Exercise Science and an MBA.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Donald Sooklall started at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in June 2010. He currently works as Finance Manager and is responsible for the Center’s financial operations along with his supportive team.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Ronnie Taveras has been working at the Center for over 10 years, first as an Office Assistant and now as a member of the finance team. It has been his honor and pleasure to serve our patients while working with such an amazing group of people.
