David and Susana are high school sweethearts who met at Hillel Community Day School in 1993. They have six children, 4 girls - Chaya (2015), Sophia (2017), Ariana (2019), Annie (2023) and 2 boys (Max 2014) and Isaac (2020), all graduates of BMA. Their eldest two children are now engaged to be married.

David, like his father, was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to the South Florida area in 1978. He has a younger sister, Tamara who lives in Austin and his parents currently reside in Hallandale Beach, FL. David is a grandson of Holocaust survivors and is involved in his mother’s organization, the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center serving as a Board Member.

Susana was born in Caracas, Venezuela and her family immigrated to the South Florida in 1986. She has two older brothers, Moises and Daniel Salama who live locally and her parents currently reside in Sunny Isles Beach, FL. Her parents were founders of the B’nei Sephardim Synagogue.
 
Since landing in South Florida, David and Susana have resided here ever since, except for the time while David was training in Michigan for Cardiology and Virginia for his medical training Cardiac Electrophysiology.
 
Both David and Susana attended the University of Miami together for undergraduate with Susana graduating with degrees in psychology and education and David completing the combined six- year BS/MD program.
 
Prior to her move back to Florida, Susana served with the Board of Directors for Knesset Beth Israel and Rudlin Torah Academy in Virginia.  From the day their children were first enrolled in BMA in 2008,  Susana has been involved with the school.  Over her 15 years of involvement, she has served on the Board of Directors, including two years as President.  She was also Head of the Security Committee, Head of the Health and Safety Committee, the Chair for the Annual Dinner and Journal, finance committee, fundraising committee, Head of Executive Director search committee, hurricane restoration plans, BMA’s representative for Teach Florida, amongst many others.  Susana has also being an active school parent volunteering in her children’s classes when asked or as chaperones to many school trips. Susana’s dedication to her community has not only being with BMA but she also has been an active volunteer with Teach Florida since 2014, Young Israel of Hollywood, Chai Lifeline, Feed the Homeless, and Broward County Medical Association.  Even when holding a full time job, Susana has always being eager to help whenever she is needed. 
 
Dr. Kenigsberg holds a number of academic and leadership positions in medicine including being the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at HCA Westside Medical Center, Founder of Florida Hearth Rhythm Specialists and Florida Heart and Rhythm Surgical Center, Past President and Current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Broward County Medical Center, Advocacy Chairman for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology Committee. 
 
David and Susana’s belief in Jewish education and their timeless support have tremendously impacted BMA and it’s growth.  We thank them for their outstanding dedication to BMA!
