Marc Levitt is the Chief of Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction at Children's National Hospital, Washington D.C. and Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the George Washington School of Medicine. 
 
He has focused his career in helping patients with complex colorectal and pelvic problems.  Dr. Levitt has published over 300 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 90 book chapters, and 4 books.  He has delivered over 500 national/international/local/regional presentations of his work and has been an invited visiting professor all over the world. Dr. Levitt has cared for patients from 70 countries and all 50 United States.  He has trained dozens of clinical fellows, research fellows, surgical residents, nurses, and students in his career and has directed numerous colorectal training courses.
 
He dedicates much of his free time to mission trips around the world where he trains surgeons and nurses in complex colorectal surgical techniques and the care of such patients.  This has included a yearly trip to Israel to perform surgery. 
 
He has partnered with Bikur Cholim of Greater and Washington as well as other Bikur Cholim organizations over many years to help patients in need, and in their coordinated effort to repair the world.
