Marcia Kerchner
Marcia Kerchner and her husband Robert are longtime members of Congregation Etz Hayim in Arlington and are also members of B’nai Israel Congregation since their move to Potomac in 2012, where Marcia is on the Sisterhood Social Action and Caring committees and the Sisterhood Board. She has been an active volunteer for the Jewish Federation of Washington for many years and has served on its Board as well as the boards of Congregation Etz Hayim and Gesher Jewish Day School. She was active in the Etz Hayim Sisterhood and served as Torah Fund Chair for several years.
Marcia was graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a degree in mathematics and received her PhD in computer science from Cornell University. She is a Principal Information Systems Engineer at the MITRE Corporation.
Marcia is enormously proud of her two sons and their wonderful families: Daniel and Deborah, Yaakov, Rena Esther, Eliezer, Binyomin, and Chana Fraydel, and Steven and Rachel, Jonah, Aaron, and Shira. She is also proud of her family’s participation for the last 4 years in Bikur Cholim’s annual MitzvahCycle as the only three-generation team.
As a volunteer for the Bikur Cholim, Marcia is honored to join in providing the safety net and caring outreach that it brings to our community.
