Hiri Etessami was born in Tehran, Iran in 1965, to a Jewish family from Shoushan, present day Hamadan, where the mausoleum of Esther and Mordechai is located. He attended Hekmat International School and later, Alborz High School, which was the equivalent of the West Point in Iran. Hiri’s father was considered the highest ranking Iranian Jew in the Shah’s government, holding the position equivalent to the head of the Federal Reserve System in the country. As he was a strong Jewish Zionist in addition to his high position in the government, the family was forced to leave the country overnight, and went into hiding in Bloomington, Indiana a few weeks before the Iranian Revolution.

After 6 months, Hiri moved to Potomac, Maryland to attend the Jewish Day School of Greater Washington. Together with his entire senior class, Hiri went to Israel for half a year, solidifying his Zionism and Judaism further.

Hiri attended Georgetown University for 3 years where he was the president of AIPAC. He was admitted to USC’s School of Dentistry where he was the President of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the largest academic Jewish fraternity in the world. He was immediately admitted to the Advanced and Surgical Endodontics program at USC, and upon graduation at the age of 26, was the youngest endodontist in the United States. He has practiced Endodontics at the same location in Los Angeles since 1991.

In 1993, Hiri married the love of his life, and childhood playmate, Jacqueline. They have 2 sons, Noah, 26 and Jonah 23, who both graduated USC’s Marshall School of Business with honors and are involved with Hiri in Israel Investment Fund Group (IIFG); a fund that invests exclusively in early stage Israeli startups and assets.  Hiri has had a lifelong passion and involvement in Jewish charities and organizations. He has been very involved in UJF, AIPAC and Beth Jacob Congregation.

Hiri is passionate about his family, his loved ones, Israel and Judaism. However, he has a number of other passions. One of his hobbies is collecting ancient and historical manuscripts, which include handwritten documents from George Washington, David Ben-Gurion, Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel of Spain, among others. A few years ago after being encouraged by his sons, he picked up Golf as a hobby. Hiri considers himself the anti-depressant on the golf course, because no matter what a rough day one may have had, by watching him play golf, you will start to laugh!

Jacqueline was born in Neunkirchen/Germany, to a German-French mother and Iranian father. When Jacqueline was four years old, the family relocated to Tehran, Iran, where her father established his dental practice, and her mother worked as the German representative for Merck pharmaceuticals in Iran. Jacqueline attended the German school of Tehran, and spent the summers traveling back to Germany to spend time with her mother’s side of the family. From an early age, Jacqueline’s parents who are dedicated and passionate Zionists, instilled in her the love for Israel, and a strong sense of support for the Jewish nation. In December 1978, with the onset of the Islamic revolution, the family no longer felt safe in Iran and relocated to Germany. Jacqueline continued her middle and high school education at the famous Otto Hahn Gymnasium.

During her teenage years, she visited Israel on multiple occasions which deepened her Jewish identity and the love for the State of Israel. After graduating from high school, Jacqueline scored in the top 5% of the national medical school entrance exam, which guaranteed her admission to the prestigious Johannes Gutenberg University, School of Medicine in Mainz.

At the beginning of her second year in medical school, Jacqueline, who always had an interest in living in the United States, decided to move and continue her educational path in California. It was during that time that she was introduced to the field of Chiropractic. As an athlete who had suffered numerous sports injuries throughout her life, she immediately was drawn to Chiropractic as a comprehensive and holistic field with a vast platform of treatment possibilities. Jacqueline resumed her education at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles where she graduated magna cum laude and valedictorian of her class in 1991. She has been in private practice in Beverly Hills since 1992 and feels blessed to have found her passion in her profession.

In 1993, Jacqueline married her childhood friend, Hiri. They are proud parents of their two sons, Noah, 26 and Jonah, 23, both graduates of USC’s Marshall School of Business and involved in Venture Capital in Israel.

Besides her family and friends, Jacqueline is passionate about various sports and physical activities, with a focus on tennis, Pilates, hiking, swimming, and kayaking. She also enjoys reading and traveling and learning about different cultures and languages. Involvement in charitable and humanitarian organizations are important to Jacqueline, especially those that support women’s causes. She is involved and supports the Ohr Torah Stone Movement, and the Aguna advocacy organization Yad La’isha, which is very dear and close to her heart. Jacqueline is also involved in the Jewish National Fund and has been a sapphire member for several years. Locally, she is involved in supporting the homeless community and you might run into her on a Sunday, distributing food, blankets and clothing to the homeless in various parts of the city.
