Sheila Nutis Cutler is an individual whose life has been marked by a diverse range of interests and contributions to her community. A member of the second graduating class of Columbus Torah Academy, Sheila's early love for animals mirrored that of her father's, leading her to train horses as a teenager and work for three veterinarians between the ages of 16 and 20. She then transitioned to a career in sales and graphic design at Nutis Press. In 1973, Sheila visited Israel for the first time, an experience that deeply impacted her. Later, she studied respiratory therapy at Columbus State College. In 1977, she attended a singles weekend at Grossinger's in the Catskill Mountains, where she met her future husband, Michael. The couple married the same year. Sheila's volunteer work began with Hadassah, where she applied her skills in calligraphy. She co-founded the Calligraphers' Guild of Northeastern Pennsylvania in 1980 and served on the board of the Montessori School for two years. Her commitment to service extended to Jewish Family Services, where she served on the board for 20 years and was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2012.
In 2004, Sheila began volunteering at Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, which rescues abused and neglected farm animals. She has been on the board since its inception. When her kids were grown she went to work for a veterinarian in Scranton.
