Tonight, with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, we say,
"Thank you, Hashem!"

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support the pioneers of Shlomit. Our gratitude extends boundlessly to Brian and Suzanne Marcus. And of course, heartfelt thanks to our gala chairs, Jane and Colin Scher, for galvanizing all the volunteers and everyone who has contributed to making this gala memorable and meaningful.

Tonight, we honor Brian and Suzanne for their unwavering dedication and support, which have fostered unity and growth within our community. Their leadership has brought new programming, full services and classes, and many new members to Adat Yeshurun.

As we celebrate 37 years, we reaffirm our bond with Israel, particularly through our partnership with the resilient community of Shlomit. Situated on the Gaza-Egypt border, Shlomit faced severe hardships on October 7th and beyond. Despite these challenges, their spirit remains unbroken, and we stand with them in solidarity and support.

As we move forward, we deepen our connection with the families of Shlomit, a community exemplifying resilience and hope. Their journey, from Gush Katif to Shlomit, inspires us. We are committed to fostering personal connections and showing our solidarity.

Our mission is to show our love through connection, funding, and rebuilding.

The heroic actions of Shlomit's security team on October 7th saved many lives.  Now, as they rebuild, we are dedicated to helping them construct a new shul, symbolizing hope and resilience. The Torah, described by King Solomon as a Tree of Life, has been the source of vitality for Adat Yeshurun in our shul. This gala celebrates our efforts to support our Torah center in La Jolla and Shlomit's. Adat's record-breaking campaign, through your generosity, has set a new fundraising record, supporting both our programs and the establishment of the new synagogue in Shlomit.

Tonight, we are blown away by how the Adat community has demonstrated love through actions. Thank you for your unwavering support. May we continue to grow and thrive as a community, united in our shared values and traditions, and continue to stand with Israel and its heroes.

We are not only saying "I love you," but also demonstrating it through our actions, not just saying "I love you" but DOING "I love you."

With tremendous admiration and gratitude,

Rabbi Daniel, Rebbetzin Brooke, Leeba, Shira, Asher, Sari, and Margalit Reich

Heartfelt Thanks for Your Support!
Dear Adat Mishpacha,
If there is only one message you take away from tonight, let it be this: Adat Yeshurun stands with Israel. We are living through very difficult times for Jews around the world, and I am profoundly grateful for the unity we at Adat have shown, in standing with Israel. The hope of hundreds of years of Jews yearning for a homeland was granted to us in our generation, and protecting and preserving this precious gift of Israel is central to us Jews as a nation and a people.

Adat standing with Israel was evident in our record-breaking campaign, initiated by Mike and Karen Aron, to send funds to Israel over the past seven months for lifesaving resources and the protection of the Israeli people.  We are so thankful for your leadership in this essential initiative.

The concept for tonight's gala furthers Adat's connection with Israel in a unique manner that we can all be extremely proud of. This year's event set a record for annual gala fundraising at our shul. Your generosity will not only support our ongoing programs and initiatives at the shul, but also contribute significantly to the establishment of a new synagogue in our sister community in Israel, Shlomit.

This milestone is a testament to our collective commitment to growth and solidarity, both locally and globally. We can all look forward to developing personal connections with our brothers and sisters in Shlomit.

Suzanne and I are also humbled by the warm wishes and gratitude you have showered on us as honorees tonight. In truth, we are no different than the hundreds of others in our community who have given so much of themselves to make Adat what it is today. From the founding years with Rabbi Wohlgelerter to the current leadership of Rabbi Reich, the spirit of volunteerism has always driven our community to increasingly greater heights.

We are all so fortunate to have Adat as our spiritual home in this beautiful part of the world. Suzanne and I are forever grateful for the blessings that come with being part of such a welcoming and sincere spiritual place.

Each of us are called upon to make a difference, and while four years ago I was a reluctant leader, this has been one of the most rewarding times in my life to serve and contribute. I would like to extend a special thank you to Rabbi Reich and Brooke for being inspired partners with me in leading our community. Their dedication and support have been instrumental in helping us navigate the challenges of a rabbinic transition, Covid and now the turbulent times for Israel and our people.

We have come out stronger and more united. With a united front and faith in Hashem, we can give each other the strength to prevail.

I also want to extend a special thank you to our remarkable gala chairs and good friends Jane and Colin Scher, and to all volunteers, donors, and everyone who has offered their time, talents, and resources to make this gala memorable and meaningful!

Finally, thank you to my wife of 48 years, Suzanne, who has been my partner in everything. I thank you for your guidance, support, and wisdom.

As we look ahead, I am filled with optimism and excitement for what we at Adat Yeshurun can achieve. Thank you once again for your unwavering support. May we continue to grow and thrive as a community, united in our shared values and traditions.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Brian Marcus

Mike and Karen Aron, together with their family, feel blessed to honor Brian and Suzanne for their unwavering dedication and incredible passion, which have been vital to our community's reunification and growth. Their countless hours of effort have brought us together, and cultivated an environment and a spirit of warmth and hospitality in which our Judaism can flourish. As substantial donors, they have also matched their words and dollars with decisive actions. All of this has been successful in strengthening us as a community and our community's support for the Jewish State of Israel during these challenging times. Their leadership has ensured that supporting Judaism and Israel is not merely rhetorical but is shown through meaningful actions. We are immensely thankful for Brian and Suzanne's leadership, generosity, and the profound impact they've had on our community. Their contributions are deeply valued, and we are proud to salute them on this special occasion.

Michael and Karen Aron

Our lives are bound up in Torah and the Adat community.
Our son, Michael Rabin z"l, flourished here where he was
encouraged to reach his full potential. He touched everyone
whom he met and we'll always be grateful
for the love the community gave him.

Brian and Sue Marcus have taken Adat to a new level of commitment
with great initiative and vision. We can't thank them enough.
We've been extraordinarily fortunate to have them lead us in the last
four years, as we have with Rabbi Reich and Brooke.
Eighteen years ago we came to Adat and look forward to our
double chai with excitement, friendship and Torah.

To Captain Brian and First Officer Suzanne:
With our sincerest gratitude, please accept this medal of bravery
for navigating the good shul-ship, Adat Yeshurun through the
transition of spiritual leadership and simultaneously through the
relentless and unyielding storm of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Without your leadership Adat may have sunk and many of us would have
been left floundering without spiritual support and some of us lost in the
murkiness of the deep waters with little hope of making it to the surface.

Yet, instead with you at the helm, you calmly and steadfastly steered
Adat into the safety of calmer waters, by not only restoring but by
increasing Adat's passengers by consolidating Adat's financial
stability and by ensuring that Adat would own a home for our dearest
Rabbi Reich and his wonderful Rebbetzin and children. Kol HaKavod!

I wanted to congratulate Claire and David Ellman (Honorary Chairs), Jane and Colin Scher (Gala Chairs) and Suzanne and Brian Marcus (Honorees), who have given their love and dedication to our community. It is my pleasure to contribute to such a beautiful cause and event dedicated to our Shul and to the Shlomit Community. I always felt that our community needed a space to come eat and enjoy their time with their family, which is why I opened my bakery, Parisien Gourmandises. It fills my heart to share my passion for baking with my community.
