Fisher House is a unique project supporting America’s military and their families beyond what is normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Since so many servicemen and women, together with their families, must travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation has donated homes that are built on the grounds of military and VA medical centers for their comfort. These homes provide housing – at no cost – during hospitalizations for any illness, disease, or injury.
Last year the West LA Fisher House served 652 families in its 21 suites.
Servicemen and women must often suffer through lengthy hospitalizations. Travel and living expenses are severe. As part of Value Our Vets, we are asking Women’s League sisterhoods, individual members, and family and friends to purchase (through Women’s League) gift cards for local grocery stores, restaurants, and pharmacies to help defray some of the costs incurred by the families. The gift cards will be a small token of our respect and gratitude for those who have contributed so much.
The West LA Fisher House will distribute the cards directly on a needs basis from the following local merchants:

- The Cheesecake Factory
- The Coffee Bean
- Starbucks
- Target
- Ralph's Grocery Store
